BOO

Halloween was a lot of fun around here. This was the first year Whit actually went trick-or-treating and he quickly figured out that this was the best day ever! He went as Derek Dooley and Thomas was an owl, but Mimi and Papa stayed with him while we went around in the neighborhood.

No, I'm not pregnant again but certainly look it in this picture! Yikes.

Dooley might have been Papa's least favorite costume... ever... but he was gracious enough to still pose for a picture.

Mean ole Emmie and Happy are at the beach and didn't even invite us! So there are no pictures of them :(

Family Fun Day!

We decided to go downtown today and let Whit see the River. John and Whit had fun playing and watching a barge. Then, we went to see the ducks at the Pea-potty... otherwise known as the Peabody. I was so mad I forgot my camera so these are just from my phone.

Happy 6 months, T!

I can't believe Thomas is 6 months old! I know time flew with Whit, but it feels like it is really in full-speed with Thomas. I think I have perspective this time around and know that my little baby is soon going to be running- literally- everywhere he goes!

We had his 6 month check-up yesterday and quite honestly it was a little disappointing- I think John's hopes of Thomas being a 1st round pick NFL lineman were a little dashed. At 4 months he was in the upper 97% for height and 95% in weight. At 6 months he's down to the 86% in height and 64% in weight! He's skinny! Something Whit never was until he was 3. (See pics below). Thomas now rolls around everywhere to get something he wants. This kid is not going to be laid back like what I heard 2nd children typically are. I guess judging from my father and sister I should have known that :)

So below are Thomas and Whit both at 6 months. My little chunker Whit! He was 95% in weight at this picture.

And finally... this was a rare moment of brotherly love. I've been praying these two would be best friends. I don't think Whit knows what to do with Thomas but each day is a different day- sometimes he likes him, sometimes he doesn't. Last night he wanted to feed him so he did! About 1/2 his dinner before he got bored. He has also wanted to help me hold the bottle lately. Thank you, Lord for small miracles!

Corn Maze

Our Sunday school class went to the corn maze today. Whit fell asleep on John's shoulders going through the maze but had a blast afterwards at Chick-fil-A and the bouncy thing they had there...

A little bit of ranting...

If this is my blog then I get to write what I want, right?!? Well, lately 2 things have been bugging the heck out of me, so you can choose to read or skip this post.

1. "Y'all"- I'm over the whole "y'all" sensation. Happy fall, y'all! Merry Christmas, y'all! Y'all, y'all, y'all! I'm a southerner through and through and use that word countless times a day, but please, please take a break from putting it on everything!! I attribute this to Paula Dean for some reason.

2. Have you noticed how every news story is now "breaking news"? Maybe it's because I watch 10:00 news more than I used to, but just because a news story is the lead story of the night doesn't automatically make it breaking news. One of these is not like the other- "9/11: Breaking News", "Death of Bin Laden: Breaking News", "Millington mayor leaves jail: Breaking News". Did you get it?!? If so, please pass along to local news outlets so they understand as well.

If my hubby were here he would add to this list of his own pet peeves, but alas he's out of town. I might add some more down the road!

I'm really happy to say that we've found a mate for Thomas. Jennings Frazee was born about 3 weeks after Thomas. Look at those 2 already! So in love from the start. We are really excited about the dowry we are getting from them too.

I wish I could say these pics were recent but they are from June. John called me in the beginning of June and said he needed a break, then 2 weeks later we headed to the beach- lots of stuff in tow including my mom and sister to help with the boys.
